Copycat All American Sandwich

Last year, my family and I traveled to Walt Disney World.  On our first night there, we visited Downtown Disney.  While there, we tried out Earl of Sandwich.  I had the BLT with avocado.  It was super yummy!

I was having a craving for Earl of Sandwich.  When I Googled Earl of Sandwich recipes, I found one that I decided to try.  Oh my goodness, it ended up being yummo!  Of course the boys didn't want to eat it with all the goodness on it so they had it as a plain sandwich.

Ingredients:
Turkey breast - Cooked and shredded

Whole berry cranberry relish

Buttermilk ranch

cheddar cheese

rolls

Assembling the sandwiches:
Place cranberry relish on one half of the roll and ranch dressing on the other.

Place turkey over the ranch and the cheddar cheese over the relish.  I ended up putting a little more ranch over the turkey.

Place the 2 halves together and then serve.

Stars of the recipe:

  • 2 turkey breasts
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. buttermilk ranch (homemade or store bought) per sandwich
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. whole berry cranberry relish per sandwich
  • 1 slice cheddar cheese per sandwich
  • 1 sandwich roll per sandwich (I used ciabatta rolls from Sam's Club.)

Steps:

  1. Place the turkey breasts in a slow cooker.  Sprinkle salt over the turkey breasts.  Then cover with water.
  2. Cook the turkey breasts for 6 hours on low.  Shred.
  3. Cut the rolls in half using a serrated knife.
  4. Place cranberry relish on one half and ranch on the other half.
  5. Place turkey over the ranch and the cheddar cheese over the cranberry relish.  If you want to, add more ranch over the turkey.
  6. Place both sides together.
  7. Enjoy!

Know-it-All loves to go to Starbucks.  His favorite drink there is the double chocolately chip frappucino.  This weekend he asked me to find a recipe for homemade frappuccinos.  So far we've made it twice and are in love with the recipe.

Our Menu Plan for the Week (July 7) - with a recipe

I'm taking part in a pantry challenge and trying to use up some of my food from my freezer and pantry.

Sunday - Green beans, ham, and potatoes in the slow cooker (My grandma's recipe except she used canned green beans and I used fresh green beans.), corn on the cob, and fried zucchini

Monday  - Roast with tomato sauce (I put a roast in the crock pot and then cover it with either a small or large can of tomato sauce over the roast.  The size of the can of tomato sauce depends on the size of your roast.  Cook it on low for 8 to 10 hours.), buttered orzo pasta, bread, and left over corn on cob

Tuesday - Hubby is going to have left overs.  The boys and I are going to be eating a picnic dinner with my mom and her friend who is in town.  I hope the weather holds out.

Wednesday - Spaghetti sauce in the slow cooker using the remainder of the zucchini, bread, fruit and veggies

Thursday - Pork and gravy sandwiches, french fries, fruit and veggies

Friday - Chicken kebobs from the freezer, rice from the freezer, mixed veggies from the freezer

Saturday - Breakfast for dinner

Now onto the recipe:

Corn on the Cob in the Slow Cooker

Stars of the recipe:

  • corn on the cob - shucked and rinsed off
  • foil
  • slow cooker

Steps:

  1. Wrap each cob in a piece of foil.
  2. Place the foil wrapped cobs of corn in a slow cooker.
  3. Cover with the lid.
  4. Cook on high for 1 to 2 hours.  (I cooked mine for 2 hours.)
  5. Enjoy with butter, salt, or your favorite corn toppings.

All of the family loved the corn cooked this way especially Crazy One.  I can't wait until I get corn from my local farmer's market so I can make more corn that way.
