1. Attending the funeral of my former teacher
Last week, I wrote about the teacher who inspired me. I made the decision to attend her funeral. I'm so grateful I did. I got to see former teachers of mine (6th grade and high school). Then I found out that Ms. Adams talked to other former teachers about how I was teaching in her hometown. Such a humbling moment when I heard that.
2. Seeing my aunt and cousin
I haven't seen my aunt in a couple of years and my cousin in about 4 or 5 years. I miss them so it was great to see them even though it was for a couple of hours. (They made a quick trip down to my area.)
3. Comic relief
My students were cracking me up on Tuesday and Thursday. I needed that comic relief. Moments of praying over other students to being told he calls his grandma Mrs. ____ (meaning my name) and me grandma.
4. Boys almost finished with school
I have an almost third grader and an almost fifth grader in my house. Where did time go? The boys have had a fun finish to the year - splash pads, class picnics, and Young's Dairy. Where can I sign up? Actually I get to do something fun next week with my school - King's Island. So it all works out in the end.
5. Sunrises and Sunsets
It seems as though I'm always driving away from those beautiful creations. (Actually in the morning I am.) A glimpse of them remind me me there is beauty in this world. A smile creeps onto my face and all is good for that moment.
