My Fortieth Birthday Disney Cruise - Post #27

Once you get down to the terminal, you go to the color and character on your tags.  Ours was Gray Daisy.  There are Cast Members to help you with this process.  They will even help you with your luggage if you need help.

Next stop is to go through Customs.  Make sure you have your Passport and Declaration Document.  They'll ask you basic questions like did you buy jewelry at the Port of Calls.  If you are honest and have everything ready, it's an easy process.

Very few passengers were on in the terminal so we were lucky.

Once we got done with everything, we boarded the bus back to the airport.  We were on the first bus so we ended up at the airport super early for our 1:30 flight.  In fact, we were so early that we had to wait 1/2 hour to be able to check in our luggage.

After checking in, we checked out the airport.  We wanted to get our oldest a souvenir.  We had already had our youngest's souvenir.

First stop was the Universal Store.  I wanted to get my oldest a Harry Potter shirt.  We ended up getting him a Maurander's Map mug instead.

Afterwards, we went over to the Disney Store (Earport).  I had a magical moment there with an older Cast Member.  M. was from Buenos Aires.  She went to the back room to get me pins.  M. also gave me lots of Mickey stickers.  We talked for a little while.  What a way to end my trip!

After shopping, we went to get me lunch.  Hubby was not even hungry but needed a Pepsi.  So he waited in a LONG line for that Pepsi while I ate my lunch.

I had Moe's for lunch because I haven't had that for a long time.  We used to have one close to my house but it went out of business.

After lunch, we decided to go through security and then wait at our gate.

Here is a video of the monorail ride from the terminal to our gate area.

When we were almost to our gate, we noticed a Best Buy Kiosk.  We had never seen one of those before so we had to check it out.

We had to sit at the gate for two hours.  During that time, we kept an eye on the monitor because there was suppose to be a rain storm coming.

For the majority of time, it said the plane was on time but then it changed to delayed.  However it was only delayed by 5 to 10 minutes.

Finally we were on the plane.  We paid extra to be one of the first people on the plane since Southwest doesn't assign seats.  Boy were we glad that we did that.  The plane was completely booked and some families didn't get to sit with each other.

Here are some pictures of the view from the plane window:

Here is the video of us landing in Columbus.

Oh and that rainstorm, it didn't occur until we were on the highway to get home.

Boy were the boys glad to see us when we got home.

Thank you for joining me on this journey.

My Fortieth Birthday Disney Cruise - Post #26

When we got back to our room, we found a sea turtle blanket art.

We finished the packing and then it was off to bed.

The next morning, I got up early once again so I could watch the sunrise.

First a room tour - Sorry for the messy bed.  We had just gotten up for the day.

In one of the pictures, you see the card holder with my Key to the World card.  In order to be able to turn on the lights, you need to put your card in the holder and keep it there.  If you also want to use the magic porthole, you need to have the Key to the World card in the holder.  There is a switch to turn on and off the magic porthole by the lamps next to the bed.  In our cabin, it was on the right side.

Another unique feature of the cabins is there is room under the bed for storage.

Hubby thought it was funny that I even took pictures of  the bathroom.  In our cabin, we had to step up in order to get into the bathroom.  I learned that the hard way.

The one mirror in our room was a magnifying mirror.  We loved it.

After the cabin tour, we said goodbye to the cabin.  Then it was up to Deck 11 for the sunrise.

We had breakfast at first Cove Cafe'.  Cove Cafe' is a lounge that serves alcohol and gourmet coffee.  There was fresh pastries there also.  It's located in the adult's only area on Deck 11.

As we continued on the deck, we found out that Cabanas was still open.  I decided to get some more breakfast.

Before leaving Deck 11, I was able to capture the best picture of the sunrise.

After breakfast, it was time for us to disembark the ship.  We had to go down to Deck 3 where Animator's Palate is located.
Of course, I had to take a few photos and one of the Crew Members took some pictures of me.

In the next blog post, we will travel back to the airport and then home.

My Fortieth Birthday Disney Cruise - Post #25

After the Disney's Believe, we went up to Deck 11 to watch the sunset.  Since the show had been delayed, we missed most of it.

While we were on the Deck 11, I took more pictures of the AquaDuck while it was lit up for the evening..

After watching the sunset, it was time for dinner.  We ate at my favorite place on the Cruise - Animator's Palate.  The atmosphere and food was wonderful.  I ate every bite of the appetizer, soup, and main course!!!!

My dinner:

Hubby's dinner:

Animator's Palate is unique because Crush comes "alive" and talks to people who are eating.  We also got to see Bruce.

I love the decorations at this restaurant.

This is Stacey who was our server for the 3 dinners.  She was awesome!!!!

These are our table mates for the 3 dinners.
On the left back - Miriam and Kharl from Florida.  They have 2 boys that are the same ages as our 2 boys.  They also have a little girl.  I'm still in contact with Miriam.

On the left front - John and Lisa from Texas.  They also have 3 kids.  2 girls and a boy - There was a tornado in their town while we were on the cruise.  It missed their house by a mile.

On the right front - Jocelyn and Michael from Washington, D.C.  They are in the Coast Guard.  Funny factoid - Hubby and Michael kept ordering the same foods every night except they had different appetizers and soup on the last night.

Since it was Mother's Day, they brought us a special dessert.  So I ended up with 2 desserts again!

The decorations at the front of the restaurant.

After we were done with dinner, we went back to our cabin so that we could finish packing up.

The Disney Cruise Line will take your luggage off the ship.  You get a tag with a character and color.  That character and color will let you know where your luggage is in the terminal.  Some airlines will do your luggage check in at the airport.  Ours did not do that.

You have to have your luggage outside your cabin by a certain time.  We were in a time crunch when we got back to the cabin so it needed to be done.

My Fortieth Birthday Disney Cruise - Post #24

Once I got back on the ship, I headed up to the AquaDuck.  The wait for the water slide was over 30 minutes.  Luckily the family in front of me kept me entertained.

I also took lots of pictures.

More pictures of the glass elevator that changes into a mural.

Of course, I needed more pictures of Castaway Cay.  That place was PARADISE!!

After the AquaDuck, I got changed in one of the bathrooms.  I thought this Mickey mirror was so cute so I took a picture of it.

Afterwards I found Hubby.  He had not gone jet skiing because they cancelled it because of the water conditions.

We got dressed up.  Actually I got dressed up for the Broadway show (Disney's Believe), sunset, and then dinner.

The show started and during the performance it was delayed because of a technical problem.

This is Jamzey from London.  He was the Activities director on the ship.  Jamzey was hilarious and great at his job so I asked for a picture with him.

In the lobby, a lady was playing a violin.  Here are some videos of the lady.

In the blog post, we watch the sunset and then have dinner.

My Fortieth Birthday Disney Cruise - Post #23

Hubby was going to go jet skiing so I went back to the ship.  I took the tram from Serenity Bay to the Pelican Point Tram Stop.  That is where the Family Beach area is located.

I got myself a non alcoholic strawberry daiquiri to enjoy on my way back to the ship.

Instead of taking the tram the rest of the way back to the ship, I decided to walk so I could enjoy the scenery.

Once you get back to the ship, they have a water station with different infused waters, lemonades, and ice teas.  They also have a hand sanitizer station.

Almost everyone was going to the first area to get back on the ship.  I decided to go to the other area and boy am I glad I did.

Because Stitch was there to greet people as they were getting on the ship.

I'll leave you with that picture.
